The Antony skill is a moniker given to the First time spin on FIFA 23. The skill was made popular by Manchester United’s 22-year-old Brazilian forward, Antony. The move was attributed to the player for performing it regularly and becoming an internet sensation during his time at Dutch side Ajax.

The skill quickly became controversial and gained popularity amongst fans globally. Some pundits argue that the skill is pointless as it does not involve beating a man or using time or space to create any apparent advantage for the team.

They dismiss it as mere showboating that should be dispelled.

At the same time, other pundits argue that this is not the case. They say the skill employs other aspects of the game, like gravity, to draw in more players towards the player and create more space and frustration within the opposing team.

Whichever divide you fall into, there is no denying that the skill is simply fun to watch and is a display of true showmanship, a quality that is less frequently explored in the modern game.
