FC 24 Thunderstruck Tracker – Upgrades, all cards, Icons, release date, and start time

The FUT 24 season marches on and another brand-new promo has been and gone! Thunderstruck brought more Live cards to FC 24 Ultimate Team and all the upgrades have now happened. Stay on top of all the boosts using our FC 24 Thunderstruck Tracker!

FC 24 Thunderstruck Tracker

We knew that a special squad would be on the way, but this could be one of the best releases in Ultimate Team history! A mix of Icons, fan-favourites, and meta monsters that can all be upgraded further was delivered in the Thunderstruck side.

FC 24 Thunderstruck release date 

Thunderstruck was the first promo proper of FC 24 Season 2: Act II. @FutSheriff revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that the event would be coming on Black Friday. 

A loading screen in FUT officially confirmed the event. The Thunderstruck release date in FC 24 Ultimate Team was November 24. 

FC Pro Live cards left packs earlier than expected, being replaced by a Best of TOTW squad on Wednesday. Thunderstruck cards joined the TOTW 10, Best of TOTW, and Best of Campaigns items in packs on Friday!

The new cards were added to packs for one week only. There were multiple Mini-Releases, coming on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with five players coming in each new batch.

Thunderstruck start time

The Thunderstruck start time was 9am ET / 2pm GMT. This was earlier than the usual 1pm ET / 6pm GMT release.

Cards remained in packs for one week only. Additional Thunderstruck items were released via Mini-Releases, Objectives, and SBCs throughout the campaign.

FC 24 Thunderstruck upgrades explained

As a new event, we didn’t know what to expect from the Thunderstruck promo in FC 24! Now, we know that Icons feature alongside the usual special squad, all as Live items. This means the special cards, including Icons, have to opportunity to be upgraded!

Top Tip

A player doesn’t even need to play to get an upgrade. As long as their team wins, they’ll get their upgrade, meaning even if you have a currently injured player, they might still be worth keeping hold of.

Thunderstruck cards will be upgraded as follows:

Men’s Football:

• +1 IF Upgrade: Team wins one of their next four Domestic League matches
• +2 PlayStyles: Team wins two of their next four Domestic League matches
• +1 IF Upgrade: Team wins three of their next four Domestic League matches

Women’s Football:

• +1 IF Upgrade: Team wins one of their next three Domestic League matches
• +2 PlayStyles, +1 IF Upgrade: Team wins two of their next three Domestic League matches

Icons:

• +1 PlayStyle: Linked team wins one of their next four Domestic League matches
• +1 IF Upgrade: Linked team wins three of their next four Domestic League matches

All Thunderstruck players will be eligible for upgrades from November 24.

When do Thunderstruck cards get upgraded in FC 24?

Thunderstruck cards will be upgraded in-game every Wednesday until each team covered has played all their qualifying matches.

How do Thunderstruck cards get upgraded?

Thunderstruck items will be given an initial upgrade in FC 24 Ultimate Team, and then have the potential to earn further upgrades depending on the outcomes of real-world matches. Men’s Thunderstruck items can earn up to three upgrades if their team wins three out of their next four matches, whereas women’s Thunderstruck items and Thunderstruck Icons have two stages to gain upgrades.

Does a Thunderstruck player need to play to earn an upgrade?

No, the Thunderstruck player doesn’t need to take part in the real-world game to earn an upgrade. Upgrades are based on team results.
