In keeping with past entries in the series, Dynasty Warriors Origins can range from a reasonable 30 hours to multiple hundreds of hours depending on how dedicated you are to becoming the Guardian of Peace. If you’ve played a Dynasty Warrior game before, you’ll know what you’re in for especially if you plan on going through everything Omega Force has squeezed into it’s latest game.

After playing through for our Dynasty Warriors Origins review, we’ve pulled together a ballpark estimate of how much time you’ll want to set aside to see the credits. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how long you’ll need to beat Dynasty Warriors Origins.

How long to beat Dynasty Warriors Origins

Dynasty Warriors Origins will take most players anywhere between 25 and 100 hours to complete, if not more. That’s a bit of a gap; it all depends on whether you want to storm through the story or, on the other hand, experience everything the game has to offer.

If you stick exclusively to the main story and are familiar with the series’ mechanics, you’ll likely reach the end of the game in between 25 and 30 hours. This would involve skipping most, if not all, of the side content, such as skirmishes and side quests. If you dip in and out of optional content, then 40 to 50 hours is a reasonable estimate, especially if you’re new to the series. Your experience with action hack-and-slash games will also factor in as will your skill, so expect your play time to vary, though we don’t expect most players to sink more than 50 hours into a non-completionist playthrough.

For die hard fans that want to bring peace to the entire map, help every NPC, unlock every trophy and achievement, complete every side quest, collect every weapon, and fight every battle, then you can expect to push past the 100 hour mark. Even then, it could be quite a bit higher if you want to play through all three endings along with the optional true ending variant of each of these (fortunately you can jump straight to the start of chapter 3 after completing the game once to make things quicker). In other words, it’s a big game that could see you through for a good couple of months if you’re committed.

However you plan on playing Dynasty Warriors Origins, it certainly isn’t short on side content to keep you busy. It is all optional, so if you want the story and nothing more, then 30-40 hours is a solid estimate for most players. It’s worth noting that Origins doesn’t feature multiplayer or co-op, so no drafting in a friend to help tick off trophies. It’s all down to you.
