Does Star Citizen have multiplayer?
Yes, Star Citizen does have multiplayer. Star Citizen is massively multiplayer, and currently features a huge in-game area and of servers for up to 50 players to play on. Like any MMO, you can take on the wealth of content in the game alone, such as its single-player campaign, or you can team up with friends, or even interact with strangers and make some new ones.
In addition to the MMO elements in the Star Citizen universe, the game has two particular game modes, called Arena Commander and Star Marine. These are essentially minigame modes where you can take part in space dogfights and standard FPS combat against both other players and NPCs.
With a game world of this size (the Persistent Universe), and the currently fairly low player numbers, it’s not uncommon for you to go plenty of time without meeting another player, giving you the solo experience even if you’re on an MMO server.
