  • There are 21 fragments and 15 aspects (five per class) to unlock.

After chasing Crow into the massive Traveler and unleashing new Prismatic powers in The Final Shape, you can augment your Guardian with Prismatic fragments and aspects. While some of them are available from the start, here’s how you can collect more fragments in the game.

How to get Prismatic fragments

You can unlock Prismatic fragments at the end of Transmigration, the first mission in the game. Naturally, you’ll have to purchase the expansion to gain access to this feature. You start with 5 Prismatic fragments:

  • Facet of Purpose
  • Facet of Dawn
  • Facet of Ruin
  • Facet of Hope
  • Facet of Courage

As you face the new Dread enemy type, you’ll find that some foes are immune to damage until you use the Transcend ability to break through their shields. To activate Transcendence, deal damage with both Light and Dark abilities to fill two bars. Proceed through the mission and you’ll reach a Prismatic wellspring. Here, you’ll unlock the Prismatic subclass, giving you access to a starter kit with five new Prismatic fragments. There are 21 fragments in total with game-altering powers that can be found by completing missions. Some of these are hidden in mission areas so you’ll have to track them down to complete your build.

How to unlock Prismatic aspects

As for unlocking Prismatic aspects, you get access to them at the end of the Temptation mission, where Cayde-6 and Glint will task you with finding Crow. Fight the large boss and you’ll find a gold chest, known in-game as a Prismatic chest. This will grant you two Prismatic Aspects. The new subclass brings an unparalleled degree of versatility to your Guardian as you can mix and match abilities from different subclasses. More Prismatic aspects can also be unlocked by finishing missions and finding chests.

All Prismatic aspects

At the moment, you can only use one aspect per element, meaning that you can’t chain two aspects of the same type together as a Prismatic Guardian. Here’s a detailed list of all the Prismatic aspects you can find:

Titan

Here are all the aspects that the new Titan can access:

AspectTypeDescription
KnockoutStarterCritically wounding an enemy or breaking their shield infuses your melee with Arc energy for a short time. Defeating targets gives health regeneration and Amplifies you.

UnbreakableNewLets you use your grenade to cast a Void shield, protecting you and allies from incoming damage by absorbing it. This damage can be released in a Void blast.
Diamond LanceStarterShatter or defeat enemies with Stasis abilities or weapons to create a lance. Throw it to freeze targets on impact, or slam it to the ground to freeze enemies in a small area.
Drengr’s LashNAActivating your class ability sends a Strand ripple forward along the ground, suspending and damaging enemies it hits.

Hunter

A Prismatic Hunter can access these aspects:

Winter’s ShroudStarterDodging slows nearby targets.
Threaded SpectreNAYour class ability leaves behind a Strand decoy that draws the attention of nearby enemies. After taking significant damage or when enemies approach, it detonates, dealing damage and releasing Threadlings that seek out and attack nearby foes.

Warlock

Unlock the Prismatic Warlock to use these aspects:

AspectTypeDescription
Lightning SurgeNAActivate your charged melee while sliding to blink forward. Lightning strikes Jolt targets as you rematerialize.

Bleak WatcherStarterPress and hold your grenade button to convert it to a Stasis turret that fires slowing projectiles at enemies in range.
Weaver’s CallNACasting your Rift weaves three Threadlings, and deploys any you have perched.

Prismatic grenades

Each class also gets access to a unique grenade:

  • Hailfire Spike: Exclusive to the Hunter, this fusion of Stasis and Solar energy attaches to surfaces and slows all within it. Then, it erupts into a scorching cyclone. This can stun Overload and Unstoppable champions.
  • Electrified Snare: Exclusive to Titans, release a mix of Arc and Strand energy that suspends targets caught in the blast. It also deals heavy damage over time and dishes out lightning jolts to nearby foes. This has the ability to stun both Overload and Unstoppable champions.
  • Freezing Singularity: Exclusive to the Warlocks, this Stasis/Void hybrid deploys a miniature black hole orbited by a halo of slowing ice. The black hole implodes after a set duration, suppressing and dealing heavy damage to all nearby targets. You can stun Overload champions with this grenade.
