  • Black Myth: Wukong isn’t currently on the Xbox Game Pass due to the game’s release being delayed for Xbox Series X|S.
  • Though unconfirmed, we expect that the game will be added to the Game Pass after the game has been optimized and released on Xbox.

While Black Myth: Wukong has been released for everyone on PC and PlayStation, Xbox players have been seemingly left by the wayside. The game has a lot of hype behind it, which is why it’s only fair that Xbox and Game Pass players feel left out. While the game isn’t on Game Pass right now, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Can you play Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox Game Pass?

Black Myth: Wukong is currently not available on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, not even for PC players. The game has launched on both PlayStation and PC, though interestingly isn’t on PS Plus either.

The main reason behind this is that Black Myth: Wukong has been delayed for release on Xbox Series X|S and didn’t launch along with other platforms. The reasons are up for speculation at the moment, but we expect, and hope, that it will be released there eventually.

According to the FAQ statement, the Xbox version has suffered a delay due to “optimization”:

“We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards, so it won’t release simultaneously with the other platforms. We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards.”

Will Black Myth: Wukong be added to Game Pass?

We expect that Black Myth: Wukong will be added to Xbox Game Pass eventually, likely following the game’s release on the Xbox consoles. Of course, that is not something that players were looking to hear, but with the game’s delay on that platform, we can only speculate at best.

Looking at the releases over the past few years, it’s not uncommon for delayed games to get a belated Xbox launch and then be added to Game Pass a few months later. It might not sound like more than a consolation prize for those subscribed to the service months or more after the hype, but it’s unfortunately not something too uncommon in the current industry.
