Once you have reached the Shattered Sanctum, head to the right side to find the Bloodied Shrine. This is where Abdirak, a servant of Loviatar is standing. He will be all too eager to torture you. There is another torture chamber here as well.

Talk to him and get ready to receive your punishment. Throughout the interaction, you will have multiple Constitution, Performance, and Intimidation rolls that you can make as Abdirak hits you with his mace, causing you to lose HP in the process. This weapon can be changed if you have read the ‘On Receiving Her Grace’ book. Other weapons like a whip can also be used.

Astarion and Shadowheart will approve of this interaction and think you are having a grand old time while Karlach will disapprove. You will see the approval or disapproval appear after each one of Abdirak’s blows. Once you are done and have succeeded in the checks, you will get the Loviatar’s Love blessing. Overall, this is an easy encounter that just requires a bit of a blood sacrifice.

What is the Loviatar’s Love buff in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Loviatar’s Love is a permanent buff that you can get from Abdirak in the Shattered Sanctum. Once obtained, it gives you a +2 bonus to attack rolls and Wisdom saving throws while your hit points are below 30%. This powerful boon, however, can disappear randomly so make sure to watch for this.
