There are multiple steps to the Investigate the Suspicious Toys quest in Baldur’s Gate 3. Below, we break down the different steps to the quest.

How to start the quest

To start the quest, you will need to visit Arfur’s Mansion in Rivington. This building can be found near the Rivington Waypoint.

After dealing with a questionable encounter involving Arfur, enter his mansion and locate the wooden hatch in the back room of the first floor. This will lead to Arfur’s basement.

Navigate the maze of firework traps. You will make multiple perception checks here to spot them all along with the explosive barrels. If you happen to touch a trip wire, this will cause a chain reaction throughout the basement.

In the back of the basement is a chest that contains a letter. Read the blackmail letter to start the Investigate the Suspicious Toys quest.

Report to Manip Nestor

From Arfur’s home, head to the Requisitioned Barn and speak to Manip Nestor. He can be found near the entrance. You can pass a persuasion check or intimidation check to have him let you in. You can also sneak in. We don’t advise you to sneak in as this is more difficult and can easily lead to you getting caught by the Flaming Fist guards.

Enter the barn and search for the dangerous toy donation. The crate can be found in the northwest corner of the barn. Once found, you can report your findings to Manip.

Confront Arfur Gregorio

You can now move on to confronting Arfur. He can be found in Sharess’ Caress near the South Span of Wyrm’s Crossing waypoint.

You can pass an intimidation skill check to get Arfur to confess everything about the dangerous toys and who his boss is. You will now need to move on to Felogyr’s Fireworks in Baldur’s Gate. If you haven’t dealt with Gortash yet and gained access to the city lower city, do that now to complete this side quest.

Investigate Felogyr’s Fireworks

Felogyr’s Fireworks is a building in Baldur’s Gate. It is to the south of Sorcerous Sundries in the lower city. Here, you will find Avery Sonshal, another Absolute cult member with a tadpole.

After talking to Avery, you will either need to persuade, sneak, or force your way up the floors of the Fireworks Shop. On the top floor, you will find a group of Banites using the fireworks store as a front to create explosive toys. Defeat all the enemies in the building and the quest will come to a close.
