Is Baldur’s Gate 3 available on Xbox Game Pass?
No, Baldur’s Gate 3 is not available on Game Pass. While the game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, developer Larian Games previously confirmed that the game will not be available on Game Pass at launch. The Xbox release itself actually came a little later than the other versions – finally dropping during the Game Awards in December 2023 – and despite hopes to the contrary, it wasn’t on the service at launch.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look good either for those hoping it may come to the service any time soon. In an interview with IGN, Larian Studios boss Swen Vincke has gone on record to say “Oh, we always said from the get-go, it wasn’t going to be on Game Pass, it’s not going to be on Game Pass. (…) So look, we are in the business of making a game that has a beginning, middle, and an end. We made a big game, so I think there’s a fair price to be paid for that, and I think that that is okay. We don’t charge you any micro-transactions on top of it, so you get what you pay for. Upfront it’s a big meaty game. So I think that should be able to exist as it is. This is what allows us to continue making other games.”
So while it’s not an impossibility that Baldur’s Gate 3 will ever come to Game Pass, unless a major deal is struck or Larian changes its mind, it’s very unlikely at this juncture – and it may not be worth holding your breath.
