Want to know how to parry in AC Mirage? This guide has you covered. Assassin’s Creed Mirage has similar combat when compared to previous games, with a system designed around dodging, parrying, and countering your foes.

AC Mirage’s combat doesn’t allow for blocking and your main source of defence is your off-hand parrying dagger that you use to – you guessed it – parry and deflect attacks coming at you. Make sure you read our review of Assassin’s Creed Mirage to hear our thoughts on the game. We also have a guide covering how to upgrade your outfits. Now, here is how to parry in AC Mirage.

How to parry and counter in AC Mirage

To parry an attack in AC Mirage, simply press the L1 button as you see an attack coming your way. You will know when you can parry an attack since the enemy will slightly glow in a light colour and you will see the animation begin. Parry as you see an enemy about to strike you will have no trouble getting the timing down. When you land the parry, your enemy will be stunned slightly letting you either perform an instant-kill attack or get in some free hits while they are off balance.

When you fight enemies in AC Mirage, you will learn that parrying is an excellent way to create an opening and provide you with an opportunity in combat to make short work of enemies. The parry window registering a successful parry is extremely lenient in AC Mirage, which makes it a reliable way to interrupt enemy attacks. Nearly every single attack can be parried, but you won’t be able to parry an attack that is signalled by the enemy glowing red. These glowing red attacks are un-parryable and you must find another way to deal with them.

As an added bonus, for those of you who are feeling stylish and flashy, you can use the parry button to deflect incoming ranged attacks, be they knives, arrows, or anything else. When you see an enemy take aim, wait until the projectile is near and then press L1 to deflect it. It will bat the projectile away and you will be safe to close the distance on your ranged foe.

Final Thoughts

That’s all you need to know about parrying in AC Mirage. Don’t think of Elden Ring or Dark Souls parrying, the one in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is much easier to perform and perfect, without having to worry about timing too much.
