How to solve the Alan Wake 2 Witchfinder’s Station Nursery Rhyme puzzle

To solve the Alan Wake 2 Witchfinder’s Station Nursery Rhyme puzzle, you’ll first need to find and solve all the Nursery Rhyme locations across Cauldron Lake, Watery, and Bright Falls. At the last Nursery Rhyme spot you solve, you’ll get the Father Doll that spawns nearby in a black case. Make sure you pick it up. 

Once that’s done, head back to the Witchfinder’s Station in Cauldron Lake. As you enter the station there’s a looping recorded message coming from the portable radio on a desk on the first floor. It contains clues to solve the Witchfinder’s Station puzzle. It says:

“On our Hero the faraway Father still kept an eye, and told her not to stand out in the light too bright, while the loving Mother and the Hatchling only tried to survive. When a tricky Witch opened a way into the dark lake, our Hero, against all caution, did a bold step take away from the Sun which would make her blind to all that she could see.”

To solve the puzzle, there are nine different nursery rhyme spots in the station and you’ll need to place the right dolls in the following locations. Here’s the solution:

  • First floor next to the two blue desks – Father Doll on the Eye.
  • First floor bedroom – Hero Doll on the Sun.
  • First floor kitchen – Mother Doll on the Heart.
  • Second floor playpen – Child Doll on the Egg.
  • Second floor bathroom – Trickster Doll on the Waves.
  • First floor entrance next to the bookshelf – None
  • Bottom of the stairs on the first floor – None.
  • Mid-way up the staircase – None.
  • Left-hand second floor bedroom – None.

Place them down to unlock the Shift in Reality achievement/trophy and get a clue for the Nursery Rhyme file in Saga’s Mind Place. Head downstairs back to the radio to talk to Dr. Campbell (familiar to those that explored the FBC HQ in Control), the mastermind behind the Nursery Rhymes project, which, it turns out, was designed to open a way to the Dark Place.

Use Saga’s Flashlight boost to destroy the orb then interact with the charm box on the desk to get an extra, fourth charm slot in Saga’s inventory and another clue for the Mind Place.
