How to find the Alan Wake 2 Oceanview Hotel stairwell question mark

To find the Alan Wake 2 Oceanview Hotel stairwell question mark, head up to the second floor of the Oceanview Hotel via room 104. Walk past the save point then out into the hallway. Take a left, then the first right so that you’re standing in front of the doors to the stairwell. They are closed and remain closed for the entire time you spend in the hotel, regardless of whether you change the scenes or not.

Stand roughly at the position highlighted in the image above and look through the window above the barred left-hand door leading to the stairs. On the ceiling, you’ll see a Word of Power spiral. Lining it up can be a bit tricky, but slowly stepping back until you get the audio and visual cues usually works. Check the image below for the right angle.

You’ll get a Word of Power to spend in the Words of War category. Your options are Full Stop, Paint The Town, or Goes Around. Take your pick here, but we recommend Paint The Town if you picked up the double-barrelled shotgun at the rooftop bar before entering the Oceanview Hotel for extra damage when hitting multiple enemies.
