Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.
Recommended: The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
We reviewed this a few weeks back so hopefully you've already go your pre-order in, but if not here's a gentle reminder that Assault on Dark Athena hits UK Stores on Friday. While the superb two-game collection has a few issues and the odd bug, it's well worth picking up. Riddick's combination of classy stealth gameplay, brutal melee combat and solid gun-play make it an action game unlike the average FPS, and there's a quest system here similar to what you'd find in a simple RPG.
Also worth a look
While we'd prefer it if Nintendo focussed on creating new games for the Wii instead of porting over old GameCube titles, Pikmin 2 is still one of the best games on the system. Sony releases another collection of tracks for its SingStar series this week in the shape of Pop Edition - interestingly the game also includes voice control, a first for the series. The wireless microphones are also finally on sale, so there's no longer a reason to put your karaoke party guests in mortal danger.
