Konami has announced on X that a Silent Hill Transmission is set for 4 PM PST / 7 PM EDT on February 12, and 12 AM GMT on February 13. While Konami teases updates for the series, the announcement explicitly names only Silent Hill Townfall. We haven’t seen anything from Townfall since its reveal in 2022, and what’s particularly interesting is that rumors have previously pointed to an early 2026 release.

The last Silent Hill Transmission took place in March 2025. The event typically sees Konami showcase gameplay for upcoming Silent Hill titles, along with trailers and announcements. There’s no mention of how long this upcoming Transmission will last, but they are usually around 30 minutes.

You can watch the Transmission live on the official Silent Hill YouTube channel. While Townfall is the only game mentioned, developer Bloober Team is also working on a remake of Silent Hill following its critically acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake, released in 2024.

Although a release window has not been announced, it’s expected that the Silent Hill remake will arrive in 2027, especially after series producer Motoi Okamoto revealed that Konami wants to release a new game every year. It’s also rumored that Bloober Team is working on a remake of Silent Hill 3, possibly for 2028.

The original Silent Hill was released in 1999 for the PS1, starring protagonist Harry Mason as he searches for his missing daughter, Cheryl. We hope Konami will show a trailer for the upcoming remake, but while that remains speculation, we know for certain that we’re finally set to learn more about Townfall.

Silent Hill Townfall rumors point to an early 2026 release

Ahead of the upcoming Transmission, rumors have pointed to an early 2026 release for Silent Hill Townfall. Reports of a March 26, 2026, release date first surfaced in October 2025, and this same date appeared again in November via a listing from the online retailer Liverpool Mexico.

Assuming Townfall is coming out in 2026, it’s likely that the Transmission will confirm a release date. A March launch is plausible, but it remains unofficial, and plans may have changed.

Unlike the Silent Hill remakes developed by Bloober Team and Silent Hill f developed by NeoBards Entertainment, Townfall is in development at Screen Burn, formerly known as No Code. Screen Burn’s portfolio includes experimental titles such as Stories Untold and the sci-fi space horror, Observation.

Konami has not confirmed details about Townfall beyond its title, but rumors claim it is similar to Hideo Kojima’s P.T. and Silent Hill The Short Message. These reports suggest that it is a first-person experience focused on investigation and pursuit sequences, with no combat or weapons. It is also rumored to revolve around several short stories centered on ghosts from a town’s past.

In addition to the upcoming Transmission, a PlayStation State of Play for February 2026 will take place earlier on the same day. It’s possible Silent Hill could make an appearance during the State of Play to promote the Transmission, but either way, it’s worth tuning in to see what new experiences are coming to PS5.
