Konami has confirmed a remake of the original Silent Hill is in development at Polish game studio Bloober Team. After bringing the fantastic Silent Hill 2 Remake to PS5 and PC, the expert horror developers are working on a full remake of the original entry in the series.

OG Silent Hill Remake confirmed

Announced at the end of the Konami Press Start 2025 press conference after a new showcase for Silent Hill F, Konami cut to Akira Yamaoka’s classic original theme for the iconic horror series. On a black screen populated by the series’ iconic thick smoke, Konami confirmed that Bloober Team is working on a full remake of the original Silent Hill.

Bloober Team and Konami recently collaboration on Silent Hill 2 Remake, a full Unreal Engine 5 recreation of the brilliant PS2 psychological horror game. Just weeks after release, that entry in the series became the franchise’s highest selling entry ever.

The original Silent Hill title is remarkably different from its PS2 sequel, and may require a bit more original content to bring it up to snuff for a modern audience. However, even 26 years after its initial release, the horror game still holds up, and definitely brings the scares.

Konami’s original horror game focuses on protagonist Harry Mason as he searches the abandoned small town of Silent Hill in search of his missing daughter. As you explore the town and seach for your child, you learn more about the town, its horrifying cult and the true nature of your daughter’s birth.

The original game also recieved a direct sequel on PlayStation 2 in the form of Silent Hill 3. Hopefully, if this new title is done well, we’ll also get a remake of the third game.

Alongside the new horror game, Konami also revealed new content for Metal Gear Solid fans during its showcase. The developer’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake will now include an all-new multiplayer mode dubbed Fox Hunt.

All in all, Konami is making a spectaular return to the video games industry after a decade of being almost absent entirely.
