Arrowhead has shared the trailer for a new upcoming Helldivers 2 Warbond called Siege Breakers. It is set to release on February 3, and its sudden announcement is surprising, as it’s arriving just a couple of weeks after the Redacted Regiment Warbond. While the contents of Siege Breakers are exciting, the biggest takeaway is a tease seemingly alluding to the return of the deadly Cyborgs from Helldivers 1.
At the end of the Helldivers 2 Siege Breakers Warbond trailer, there is a “Confidential Incoming Transmission”. This shows the point of view of a fallen Helldiver with a cracked helmet as they are dragged away by an unknown enemy. Although the enemy is never seen, fans on Reddit have pointed out that it sounds identical to the Cyborgs, a major faction from the first game.
Cyborgs are not to be mistaken for the Automatons present in Helldivers 2. Automatons are a faction that descends from the Cyborgs and are portrayed as entirely mechanical beings, so essentially bloodthirsty robots. By contrast, the Cyborgs from Helldivers 1 were once human terrorists who “perverted their bodies with cybernetic augmentation”.
In the first Helldivers, the Cyborgs rebelled against the ideals of Super Earth to “adopt the ancient ideology of socialism”. The Cyborgs were eventually defeated, enslaved by Super Earth, and restricted to their icy, desolate home planet of Cyberstan. This then ultimately led to the creation of the Automatons.
While you cannot explore Cyberstan in Helldivers 2, leaks dating back to April 2025 have pointed to the existence of an Automaton homeworld called New Cyberstan. Those leaks included a forest banner, but it was only a placeholder.
Although the return of Cyborgs is not official, Arrowhead has previously discussed bringing back more elements from the first game, such as additional vehicles. Beyond the possibility of Cyborgs, leaks have also pointed to the eventual return of more Illuminate enemies from Helldivers 1, including the Illusionist.
New Helldivers 2 Siege Breakers Warbond release date
The release date for the Helldivers 2 Siege Breakers Warbond is February 3. It’s possible the Cyborgs could return on the same day as part of an update, but nothing has been announced as of this writing.
Below is everything included in the Warbond:
- LAS-16 Trident – Primary Weapon
- CQC-20 Breaching Hammer – Stratagem
- EAT-411 Leveller – Stratagem
- GL-28 Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher – Stratagem
- Churned Earth Patterns
- SA-7 Headfirst – Armor
- SA-8 RAM – Armor
- G-SH-39 Shield – Throwable
- Rags of the Fashionable – Cape/Player Banner
- Wedgeful Tricorn – Cape/Player Banner
- Display of Brawn – Emote
- Bunker Buster – Player Title

Starting with the LAS-16 Trident, this update sees the weapon fire “six beams compared to the original’s three,” according to community manager Baskinator, speaking via the PlayStation Blog.
As for the CQC-20 Breaching Hammer, it is a close-quarters combat “sledgehammer [that] can do straight smashing, or it can have an explosive charge attached to its head to drive the point home”. Meanwhile, the “GL-28 Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher lets you continuously fire grenades in a nonstop, explosive barrage,” and the “EAT-411 Leveller fires one high-yield missile”.
Finally, the G-SH-39 Shield is a throwable that “generates a spherical, projectile-blocking shield,” allowing you to “make your own barrier while you bust down all the others”.
So far, it has been a strong start to the new year for Helldivers 2. Alongside the Redacted Regiment Warbond on January 22, Arrowhead added new Commando Missions as part of update 5.0.2. Arrowhead has not shared plans beyond Siege Breakers, but the developer has discussed wanting to increase the level cap, with leaks suggesting it could rise to level 200.
