Epic Games has made several big changes to the loot pool in the current Fortnite season. Originally, the season had Olympian Mythic items, but they were vaulted when the Avatar collaboration started. Furthermore, we got even more changes with the release of the Star Wars collab. These loot changes affected chests as well, including God chests found in new locations.

Since the Avatar collab ended, the loot pool has mostly reverted to its original state. This includes Fortnite’s God chests, which had different items over the past few weeks.

God chests in Fortnite now have the original loot

With the release of a Greek mythology-themed Fortnite season, Epic added many thematic items and weapons. From new locations, such as Grim Gate and Mount Olympus, to new weapons and chests, the entire season has mythology vibes. However, this certainly wasn’t the case for a few weeks during the Avatar collaboration.

During this period, the Fortnite developer removed all Olympian weapons, including the Thunderbolt of Zeus and Chains of Hades. These weapons were no longer obtainable through any source, including God chests. Instead, these new chests contained two Rare (Blue) or better weapons, as well as a few other items.

Sadly, with the ending of the Avatar collab, it is no longer possible to obtain Rare weapons from God chests. Instead, they were reverted to the original loot pool. This means that you can get items like Wings of Icarus or Chains of Hades from them. Furthermore, these chests also have a chance to spawn the Golden Banana.

Considering that Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is around the corner, Epic may not make more changes to the loot pool. The next update will likely be smaller and include files for the live event and possibly new cosmetics. The current season is scheduled to end on Friday, May 24, and it’s unlikely that there will be more delays.
