Believes the game has sent a message that the video games industry has not grown up.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4, reporter Marc Cieslak revealed that the controversial airport scene in the game "saddened rather than shocked" him, largely because it disproved his belief that the video games industry had "grown up a little bit".
Asked if he'd been damaged by the game, Cieslak responded: "Oh not at all. I've played an awful lot of games and watched an awful lot of movies.
"I wasn't shocked by it but I felt a little bit saddened. I thought the games industry had moved beyond shock tactics for shock tactics sake. And that's what I thought about this particular level: it was controversial for the sake of being controversial. I didn't think it necessarily needed to be included in the game."
Modern Warfare 2 is out now for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

At the end of the day if its OK to make films & books etc that show horrors/atrocities etc its OK to make games that involve the player in them. Also this whole faux intellectual sneering at games was tired years ago...its even more lame and dated now.

The games industry has grown up, it's no longer catering to kids now, it's now late-teens to middle age people that are the game industries target audience.
"saddened rather than shocked" IT WAS MEANT TO SHOCK YOU!!!!!! That scene showed you what these terrorists are capable of and what there goal was! Nothing else will make you want to hate this enemy more than a massacre at a airport, killing innocent people.
