When looking back at which Fortnite seasons are universally beloved by players, good mobility is something they all have in common. Whether it is having items such as Launch Pads, Grapplers, Rift To Gos, or vehicles such as the Chopper, being able to traverse across the map is crucial. When mobility is lacking in the game, no amount of content or good loot can save it in the eyes of fans.

Despite being a fun season with the mythic God medallions, as well as fairly good movement, there is one aspect that is severely lacking, and that is stamina. In a Reddit post, u/subie- details the recent changes made to stamina and how it is affecting Fortnite saying,

“Why is stamina regeneration so bad?Was this recently reduced or nerfed? The recharge in between seems like 5 seconds or more AND any bit of damage reduces it.I get choosing your fights and managing it, but sometimes resetting an engagement or running is a better alternative and with these delays you can’t.”

This is something I have noticed recently, most recently during my session last night I had thought about how running seemed much slower and it took longer to regenerate, making moving around the map more sluggish. Other players have noticed too, with U/xMethodz saying “This entire chapter feels like you’re running in wet jeans,” which is a perfect way to describe movement in Fortnite Chapter 5 since they changed it from the classic movement.

Although there are some movement options this season, they are largely environmental, such as vehicles, static Launch Pads that are permanently placed on the map, or the green water that gives you the boost jump ability. When it comes to mobility items, there is only really the Avatar Air and Waterbending items, the Zeus Medallion which allows you to run faster when sprinting, and the Cerberus Medallion which gives you the permanent boost jump ability.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season is almost over, with it now in its final month, with Season 3 beginning on May 22nd. But, while we wait for the new season, there is a new Avatar-themed mini Battle Pass, and Fortnite Festival Season 3 has started which has brought Billie Eilish to the game as well as official instrument support with Pro Lead and Bass tracks.
