Nintendo today revealed details of the single-player and multiplayer game modes included in its upcoming Wii exclusive boxing title, Punch Out!!.

The classic Nintendo IP has been reborn on Wii complete with all-new motion controls. Prepare to duck, dodge, jab and hook your way to victory! Also, for the first time in Punch Out!! history, go head-to-head with a friend. The multiplayer mode allows two contenders to battle it out via a split screen.

The new game offers new 3D graphics and immersive controls that utilise the precision of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to mimic the movements of the left and right hands.

In the exciting single-player Career mode, you play as Little Mac, a young boxer determined to become World Champion. Players must face thirteen different opponents on their way to the goal, spread across three circuits: Minor, Major and World. These opponents are based on some of the most popular signature characters from previous Punch Out!! games, including, Von Kaiser, King Hippo and Glass Joe.

Punch Out!! will be released for Wii on May 22.
