Fortunately, it’s an easy process to play Dead Island 2 on Steam Deck.

1. On your Steam Deck, hit the Steam button.
2. Scroll down the pop-up options until you reach Power.
3. Hit Power.
4. Scroll down to ‘Switch to Desktop mode.’
5. Open up the Discover store.
6. Search and install Lutris.

If Lutris doesn’t show up on the store, then you’ll need to try something a little more advanced.

1. Go to the Steam Deck start menu.
2. Hit the Konsole application.
3. Press the Steam button and X to bring up the onscreen keyboard.
4. Type this in: flatpak install flathub-beta net.lutris.Lutris
5. A prompt will appear, hit Y and press Enter.
6. Close and reopen Konsole.
7. Pull up the onscreen keyboard again and type this command in: flatpak install flathub org.gnome.Platform.Compat.i386 org.freedesktop.Platform.GL32.default org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default
8. A series of pop-up prompts will appear. These will ask you which version of files you want to download. Select the last option each time and press Enter.
9. Another pop-up will appear asking you if you want to ‘Proceed with these changes to the system installation? [Y/N].’
10. Hit Y.

Now there’s only a few more steps you need to do to make Lutris easy to access.

1. Once Lutris has finished downloading, go into the Start Menu.
2. Hit the Games sub-menu.
3. Find the little Lutris icon and long-press the left trackpad.
4. A pop-up option will appear with the option to add the program to Steam.
5. Hit that pop-up option.

There you go! Lutris should work perfectly now. Open it up and make sure to log in to your Epic Games account via the side menu. Once in Epic Games navigate to Dead Island 2 and download it as you would on a desktop. Then left-click the Dead Island 2 icon and hit Create Steam Shortcut from the pop-up drop-down menu. Dead Island 2 will now appear in you Steam Library under the Non-Steam Games heading and you can play it on your Steam Deck.
