Those hoping to play on the go may be wondering if you can play Armored Core 6 on Steam Deck?

The release time is imminent for AC6 is approaching quickly, and those who pre-ordered the game have started preloading it in anticipation. We know that Armored Core 6 is playable on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, so it would seem only right that Steam Deck is included in that list, right?

Our hopes are high. Given that Elden Ring played brilliantly on the handheld console on release, we’re fully hoping that it will be no different with AM6. As you might expect with a AAA title, the system requirements are pretty demanding, but that’s what the Steam Deck was built for, right?

Is Armored Core 6 on Steam Deck?

Yes – Armored Core 6 can be played on Steam Deck. As you might expect, the Steam App lists AC6 as a playable game. Yipee! Make sure you’re prepared for the download though – you’ll need 60GB of storage available which isn’t much at all. Indeed, now might be the time to invest in a Steam Deck SD Card to help with load speeds.

The playable status is great news, although AC6 has missed out on being fully compatible. This is due to the size of the Steam Deck screen which means the in-game text might not always be readable. Of course, you could always hook your Steam Deck up to a monitor for a clearer picture.

There’s also the chance that FromSoftware will tweak the game after its official release to address this issue. Indeed, Masaru Yamamura, AC6’s game director in an interview with Digital Trends said: “Obviously seeing how well Elden Ring performed on the Steam Deck, we were very happy, and we wanted to at least create that as a baseline going forward for this handheld. So it is fully supported for Steam Deck … we just want to reassure players that it will be fully supported.” So, given the success of Elden Ring on Steam Deck, our hopes are high for AC6 to run well on the Steam Deck too.
