Below are our top TV selections for gaming on a PS5. We have tried to cover a variety of price points, without sacrificing quality.
Best overall gaming TV for PS5
The LG C2 is the best 4K Gaming TV for PS5
- Size: 55″
- Resolution: 4K UHD
- Panel type: OLED
- Refresh Rate: 120Hz
- Connectivity: 4 x HDMI 2.1
The LG C2 is the best TV you can buy for your PS5. Not only that, but it’s probably the best TV on the market at the moment.
The incredible 4K resolution is bolstered by an OLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate – the quality of which is top unparalleled unless you’re factoring in TVs such as the LG G2 or Sony A95K.
Alongside the 4 x HDMI 2.1 outputs, VRR helps synchronise the refresh rate with your PS5 – while ALLM ensures that any input lag is minimised.
It’s unlikely you’ll be pushing out competitive gaming on your LG C2, though the immersive gaming on more graphically intensive games is a true spectacle.
Charlie says: ‘You’re paying a premium but this is a TV that you won’t be replacing for years. What’s great here are the 4 HDMI 2.1 ports – many older models, like the BX, just have two, which limits 120Hz at 4K connectivity. If budget is no option, the G1 is a fantastic option and will serve gamers well’

In terms of sound quality, this TV is likely to warrant a sound bar to give you the best experience. Not a deal breaker, but worth considering when assessing your budget.
Charlie says: “A great all rounder that boasts a decent picture. Thanks to Freesync, it’s perfect for those who game on PC – providing they’re using AMD hardware. There are two HDMI 2.1 ports, which means you’re somewhat future proofed, but you may run into connectivity issues if you’re after the best experience.’

As the centerpiece in your living room, this impossibly huge TV is the perfect display for your PS5. Its size allows for a deep immersion whilst gaming, and the picture quality only enhances the experience.
After receiving a firmware update, the display is now capable of displaying 4K at 120Hz, though before the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) would limit to 60Hz on 4K. Since receiving the update, the absolute giant of a TV is now a contender for one of the best 4K Gaming TVs.
The QLED panel offers a huge range of contrast, displaying a deep range of blacks and extremely bright colors when asked. The display, coupled with four HDMI 2.1 ports, allows for both your PS5 and Xbox Series X to be connected at the same time, so no more unplugging to enjoy gaming at 120Hz on either console.
Charlie says: Vizio 75” Class P-Series – Vizio isn’t always the first name we think of when it comes to high-performance TV brands, however, the P-Series is a fine choice for both gamers and entertainment consumers.
“It features an efficient VA panel that delivers excellent native contrast and deep blacks that help to create an immersive visual experience. Better yet, you get all this at a fairly reasonable price that undercuts many of its rivals”

Charlie says: “Still a truly stunning TV – despite the C2 coming out. It’s actually a great time to get the C1 as the price is starting to come down – after holding it for so long. It’s stylish and packs a ton of punch for the money. One of the all time greats for gaming.”
Best cheap gaming TV for PS5
The TCL Class 4-Series 55S455 is the best budget gaming TV for PS5 on the market
The PS5 isn’t cheap. For many of us, getting it alone nearly emptied the wallet. If you want to keep costs to a minimum, the TCL 55S455 is for you.
- Size: 55”
- Resolution: 4K UHD (3840 x 2160p)
- Panel Type: LED
- Refresh Rate: 60Hz
- Connectivity: HDMI 2.0b x 4
This TV is the perfect entry point to 4K displays on a tight budget. No longer is console gaming limited to mid-resolution and small monitors. The TCL 55S455 allows anyone to enjoy 4K, which used to be reserved for those with deep pockets.
After plugging in your console, the TV automatically switches to Game Mode which optimizes latency. With HDR enabled the blacks are adequately deep. Though, as it is an LED panel the brightness leaves a lot to be desired.
For some PS5 Gamers who play games with lighter color palettes, this might not be a problem. But for those who play immersive, densely populated games this may be something to consider when purchasing.
A significant choke-point for the TV is the 60Hz limitation, but for most casual gamers this shouldn’t be a huge concern.
Featuring four HDMI 2.0b ports you can connect a range of devices, even if none of them can run past 60Hz. Though an extremely welcome benefit is Roku’s Smart TV software that runs natively on the TV, meaning that you have access to Spotify, Netflix, and Amazon Prime amongst other services.
Overall, what you trade for in quality and perfection, you receive in value. This TV is an excellent 4K Gaming TV for PS5, especially for such an amicable price tag.
Charlie says: “If you’re looking for a budget-tailored TV that delivers a pleasant visual experience, you really can’t go wrong with the 55S455 from TCL. Despite featuring some minor flaws, its overall performance is respectable – especially when you consider its price point.
“Alongside deep blacks, a wide contrast ratio, and decent reflection handling, this display also offers HDMI 2.1 support – allowing next-gen console players to reap the rewards of [email protected] gameplay.”
Best Sony TV for PS5
The Sony A95K is the best Sony TV for PS5
A Sony PS5 belongs next to a Sony TV – so here’s what we think is the best Sony TV for PS5.
The A95K is blessed with a QD-OLED (Quantum Dot) panel with a high contrast ratio and huge color gamut. ALongside that, the OLED allows for perfect black. The visual prowess of this TV is enough to stake its claim amongst the list.
Alongside that, the Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture mode mean this TV is perfectly designed for your PS5. With VRR and ALLM support, what more could you ask for from a TV?

Best Underrated TV for PS5 – TESTED
Resolution: 4K UHD (3840 x 2160p)
Panel Type: LED
Refresh Rate: 120Hz
Connectivity: 2 (Rear)/2 (Side) (2 x HDMI 2.1, 2 x HDMI 2.0)
We’ve had hands on with now discontinued LG BX and we absolutely love it. When people talk about LG TVs, they immediately shift to the C1 / CX but the B1 / BX is nearly as good and comes in far cheaper.
The picture quality is top notch, with deep blacks and tons of internal processors to ensure a silky smooth picture during scenes with plenty of movement. Thanks to a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, you’re set for the future, with the BX supporting Nvidia Game Mode and 120Hz gaming at 4K resolution.
The BX looks stunning, especially when on a stand – and the signature LG controller is a joy to use. Blacks are not quite as deep as the more expensive C1, and the menu can be a little ‘jumpy’ sometimes as the processor is different to the flagship model in that range, but these are just minor gripes in what is surely one of the best value, and most underrated, TVs out there.
Charlie says: “The BX was always in the shadow of the C1, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad TV. Far from it, in fact. With two HDMI 2.1 ports, a stunning picture and stylish looks, the B1 is everything you want from a SMART TV.
“The menus are easy to navigate, and there plenty of software updates to keep your TV running smoothly. If the C1 is slightly out of budget, The BX is a worthy contender and will serve you well for years to come.”

With Quantum HDR – colors burst to life on the Samsung Q60B TV. The quantum dot display matrix is part of this TVs charm, and the stunning 4K UHD resolution consolidates its position as one of the best budget TVs for PS5.
The only downside that the TVs low price brings is the lack of HDMI 2.1 – which you need to game in 4K at 120Hz.
However, not all games on the PS5 support HDMI 2.1 gaming at 120Hz yet – but here’s the full list.
Here’s the full list so far:

Best TV for PS5 FAQ
What size TV is best for PS5?
This all depends on your viewing preference. If you prefer to sit close, a monster screen can actually be pretty jarring on the eye – and the image quality may look poorer. If that’s the case, opt for a much smaller TV around the 32ins mark, or even better a monitor. If the PS5 is plugged into your main TV in the living area, and you prefer to game at distance, 55ins is definitely recommended. It gives you tons of size without overpowering the room or blowing up the 4K image to a point where quality suffers.
Is HDMI 2.1 worth it for PS5?
In short, yes. It’ll give you a far better experience than gaming at 60Hz. It does however depend on what games you like playing. RPGs and story driven games, with less focus on reaction time may not warrant an upgrade. However multiplayer shooters are far more enjoyable and responsive when played at 120Hz.
