We’ve had hands on with now discontinued LG BX and we absolutely love it. When people talk about LG TVs, they immediately shift to the C1 / CX but the B1 / BX is nearly as good and comes in far cheaper.

The picture quality is top notch, with deep blacks and tons of internal processors to ensure a silky smooth picture during scenes with plenty of movement. Thanks to a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, you’re set for the future, with the BX supporting Nvidia Game Mode and 120Hz gaming at 4K resolution.

The BX looks stunning, especially when on a stand – and the signature LG controller is a joy to use. Blacks are not quite as deep as the more expensive C1, and the menu can be a little ‘jumpy’ sometimes as the processor is different to the flagship model in that range, but these are just minor gripes in what is surely one of the best value, and most underrated, TVs out there.

Charlie says: “The BX was always in the shadow of the C1, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad TV. Far from it, in fact. With two HDMI 2.1 ports, a stunning picture and stylish looks, the B1 is everything you want from a SMART TV. The menus are easy to navigate, and there plenty of software updates to keep your TV running smoothly. If the C1 is slightly out of budget, The BX is a worthy contender and will serve you well for years to come.”

Is it worth getting a 120Hz TV for PS5?

A 120Hz TV can offer smoother motion and potentially reduce input lag compared to a 60Hz TV. Especially if you’re sensitive to motion blur you may find a 120Hz refresh rate enhances your gameplay. Of course, a 120Hz TV can potentially cost more, especially if you go for a TV with premium gaming features like VRR and HDR. Overall though, a 120Hz probably is worth it, especially if you want to future-proof your gaming setup.

Low input lag

Looking for a TV with low input lag is super important if you’re using it for PS5, or gaming in general. Input lag is how long it takes for the input to, essentially, be registered on the display. This is not to be confused with response time, which is actually how quickly a single pixel can change color.

The lower the input lag, the better, especially if you’re playing competitive games. Mind you, if you are, we’d recommend one of the best HDMI 2.1 monitors instead, as the input lag may be even lower!

VRR support

Variable Refresh Rate support, or VRR, is a technology built into some TVs that reduces screen tear or stuttering. It’s very important to have, as when the action gets too fast, or too slow, on cheaper TVs the image will start to stutter or jump.
