With a launch not too far away, there’s a lot of interest surrounding whether or not Honkai: Star Rail could have Denuvo DRM protection.
Denuvo is used to protect game files from tamper, whether that’s from piracy or hackers. While on paper, it has a particular value, it has also caused issues with many gamers out there. As we saw with Dead Island 2’s Denuvo situation, many were waiting to buy the game pending confirmation that the game would be without the DRM protection software.
However, since Honkai Star Rail is a free-to-play game, pending registration, it’s unlikely to face a similar audience response.
At the time of writing, we do not know for certain if Honkai: Star Rail has Denuvo. We have heard no confirmation from YoHoverse that it’s going to be implemented as a feature, so for now we’re going to be left wondering….
When the Honkai Star Rail pre-load swings around, we’re likely going to be able to have a look at the game files and find out if the game has any DRM protection. Until then, we’re going to have to keep guessing.
