For those wondering if the RTX 4060 Ti is good for 1440p, we’ve got you covered.

The internet is buzzing about the newly confirmed specs of the RTX 4060 Ti and everyone is excited about what they might be able to expect performance-wise from a mid-range addition to the 40 series. With the new Ada Lovelace architecture, the 40 series has been blowing everyone out of the park with its enhanced DLSS 3 and ray tracing capabilities.

However, with the release schedule starting at the high end with the 4090, 4080 and most recently the 4070 series emerging, it’s been hard to get your hands on Lovelace without paying a hefty price tag. Enter the mid-range options. With the release date looming, it’s no surprise that gamers are trying to find out whether the rumoured RTX 4060 Ti will be good for 1440p.

Let’s get into it.

Is the RTX 4060 Ti good for gaming at 1440p?

We think it likely from the specs we’ve seen that the RTX 4060 Ti will be good at 1440p and in fact will be more targeted towards the 1440p -1080p gameplay end than the 4K range of it’s more powerful siblings. Let’s get into why.

First off, let’s talk power consumption. The 8GB version will only have a 110W power consumption. Meanwhile, the 16GB version will have an average gaming power of 140W. This is pretty low. Then there’s the two variants aspect. The 8GB variant would probably struggle with 4K, while the 16GB will probably fare better but for 1440p, both will probably have no issues at maintaining a steady frame rate.

We’ll be able to give a more definitive answer once we’ve tested it out for ourselves when both versions are released, but we’re sticking with this prediction for now as further specs seem to support this general resolution ball-park. Both 4060 Ti versions will have 4352 CUDA cores which is a tidy sum, but nevertheless significantly less than the 4070 which had 5888. But the all important memory type is GDDR6 putting this SPU firmly in the mid-range spectrum.

All in all, these specs make us think that an RTX 4060 Ti will truly be a mid-range option and, as such, better suited to 1080p than some of its more powerful siblings.

We’re going to be keeping a close eye on this and will update the page accordingly as new information comes in. Make sure to check back in periodically to make sure that you don’t miss anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

With everything so up in the air, we know that many people will have questions that they want answers to. With that in mind, we’ve done our best here to answer some of your most pressing queries.

Is 1440p good for gaming?

Many gamers find that they prefer gaming at 1440p to higher resolutions like 4K as a lower resolution can help stabilise and increase FPS. For many fps gamers, this is desirable as it allows them faster reaction times in-game than a higher resolution would allow. At the end of the day, it is up to the gamer and their particular wants.

Does VRAM matter to get good 1440p performance?

Yes. VRAM (Video Random Access Memory) affects resolution performance as it is the memory used to store information needed to render effectively. Less memory means less data available for easy access and a harder process to render the frames to higher resolutions.
