If you’ve recently downloaded the new old-school style first-person shooter BattleBit Remastered, you might be wondering how to set up BattleBit Remastered controller support. We’ve got everything you need to know right here.

Released on the 15th of June, BattleBit Remastered has spiked the charts of Steam with its capacity for large-scale multiplayer gaming mayhem and destruction.

So, you might find yourself asking whether or not you will be able to use your favorite controller to explore the expansive maps and 45-plus weapons that this game has to offer. Here’s what we know so far:

Does BattleBit Remastered have controller support?

Unfortunately, BattleBit Remastered does not currently have official controller support.

One of the developers See12Run explained that it “was not something we could squeeze in before early launch”, and also mentioned that the official implementation of controller support will be here soon to and will help the game operate a lot smoother on the traditional PC alternative.

However, worry not because you can still set up your controller in the meantime. There is a workaround that should support all standard controllers – here is how to set up controller support in BattleBit Remastered.

How to set up controller support in BattleBit Remastered

As explained in this Twitter thread by the official BattleBit account, the first step to setting up your controller to play BattleBit Remastered is to configure your controller in Steam.

  1. After plugging in your controller, find the ‘Controller’ option in Steam settings, and select the appropriate controller option.
  2. From there, you can open a filled-out controller layout in Steam by following this link in your browser. The link can be found here: steam://controllerconfig/671860/2989910468
  3. After applying this layout, you should be ready to start getting into the action of BattleBit with your controller.

Adjusting the settings in the game itself is also advised for optimal controller support. Enable ‘Toggle Lane’, ‘Toggle Aim’, and ‘Toggle Sprint’ in the game’s ‘Controls’ section for an easier controller experience. You could go ahead and further tweak these settings in the Keybindings menu to suit personal preferences.

Final thoughts

So there you have it. Although official controller support is not yet available for Battlebit Remastered, you can still use you controller in the game and manage to have a pretty smooth experience.

If you’re still having problems, it hopefully won’t be too long before official controller support arrives in the game.

In the meantime, you could start thinking about how to optimize your experience in this game by considering not just the BattleBit Remastered best graphics settings or even the BattleBit Remastered weapons tier list.
