Zavvi has become the first online retailer to begin taking pre-orders for Nintendo’s Wii U console, although we’re pretty sure the £399 asking price is way over what consumers will end up paying.
According to the listing, the Wii U will launch on July 20, 2012 priced £399.85, but you should take all this information with a pinch of salt. Zavvi clearly wants to begin attracting pre-orders for the console, but without any solid pricing or release info from Nintendo is likely to have used place-holder data.
Rest assured that when the actual price is announced and Zavvi lowers the price, pre-order customers will be charge the lower price.
