If you’re having trouble logging in to play XDefiant, then the servers might be down. Here’s everything you need to know to find out if Ubisoft’s FPS shooter’s servers are down and how to troubleshoot the issue.

Are XDefiant servers down?

  • XDefiant servers are currently up and running normally.

Some players are reporting that they are unable to join the game. Some of the issues may be coming from the Ubisoft Connect app, causing crashes and long wait times. Similarly, there’s a report from Ubisoft Support about servers and matchmaking causing some players problems with joining games.

On the other hand, some portion of the player base seems to suffer from a “degradation of online services”, as Ubisoft’s support team had put it. This relates to some players’ inability to connect to servers, high latency, and disconnections.

Why is XDefiant down?

The servers for XDefiant are currently online and functioning normally. Outside of normal downtimes, if you’re having issues while trying to connect, there are a few solutions that you can try:

  • Check your network status and restart your router.
  • Check Ubisoft Connect for any updates to the game, then download them.
  • Verify your XDefiant game files and attempt to repair them if the issue persists.

If you’re getting an error message “Ubisoft Connect has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown” on the Ubisoft Connect PC version, here’s what you can try:

  • Open the Run command by pressing Windows key and R at the same time.
  • Type “%LocalAppData%” in the text box.
  • Delete the “Ubisoft Game Launcher” folder.

After that, try to launch Ubisoft Connect again. Then allow for any updates and start XDefiant.

How to check XDefiant server status

The best place to check XDefiant server status is on Ubisoft’s support page. There you’ll see the Connectivity and Performance section which shows the server status across all platforms. At a glance, you can also find the date and time of the last update, which tells you when was the status last checked.

Another avenue is to check an outside source like DownDetector. While they don’t have a dedicated XDefiant page, you can still monitor the status of Ubisoft Connect. This can tell you if there are any connectivity issues surrounding Ubisoft’s launcher, which can in turn translate to problems when you try to log in to XDefiant.

Lastly, it’s always a good idea to check official social media accounts. Most major outages and maintenance alerts will be communicated through there. For XDefiant, you can check:

Does XDefiant have a maintenance schedule?

It is safe to assume that there will be a periodically planned maintenance schedule for XDefiant, deploying patches and updates. The last scheduled maintenance was on Thursday, July 4.

When the servers go down for maintenance, they will likely go offline for one hour and up to several hours. Most scheduled maintenance alerts will be announced on one of the abovementioned social media accounts. We will update this section once more information is available.
