Obsidian Entertainment’s Pillars of Eternity spin-off Avowed will have more endings than any Elder Scrolls game. The first-person fantasy RPG has been designed to offer players with a large number of different endings to make sure every choice actually matters.
How many endings are in Avowed?
Unlike, say, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Obsidian’s Avowed will have multiple endings based on your choices throughout the game. While there won’t be as many endings as Baldur’s Gate 3, Avowed will have more endings than any Bethesda title.
In an interview with IGN, game director Carrie Patel revealed that there are more than ten endings to experience. However, the exact number of endings that are included has yet to be revealed by Obsidian.

“I can tell you our ending slides number in the double digits, you can end up with a lot of different combinations of them,” Patel revealed. “Your ending really is the sum total of your choices across the game.”
As a spin-off of Pillars of Eternity, Avowed will likely follow those game’s structure when it comes to endings. This means that there will be a handful of main endings determined by some major choices and smaller, spin-off endings outside of the main quest.
However, we don’t expect these endings to have big-budget, animated sequences. Instead, each ending will likely be portrayed via art cards with narration and music. Then again, with no ending shown before launch, we could be surprised with some fancy animations.
Avowed is almost here
Currently an Xbox exclusive, Avowed is scheduled to launch on Xbox Series and PC on February 18, 2025. However, with Indiana Jones and The Great Circle now officially coming to PS5 following Microsoft pressure, the upcoming RPG could also end up launching on PS5 sometime after.
On launch, Avowed will be playable on PC, console and mobile via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
