Microsoft has announced that the June Xbox update will allow players to reveal details of their secret achievements.

The details include the title, the achievement description, and, of course, the Gamerscore. In a blog post on the Xbox site, engineering lead Eden Marie wrote:

“Starting in June, you can choose to reveal secret achievements. If you don’t mind spoilers and want a hint on any of the achievements in the games you’re playing, it’s easy to find the secret achievement details on your Xbox.

“From within a game, open the guide and go to Game activity > Achievements. When you see a secret achievement, you can now reveal details like the title, achievement description, and Gamerscore. And after you peek, you can go back and hide it or continue to display the details.”

In other recent Xbox news, the company is, apparently, going to pivot away from its stand-alone cloud gaming device. An official spokesperson confirmed the move in a statement:

“As part of any technical journey we are constantly evaluating our efforts, reviewing our learnings, and ensuring we are bringing value to our customers. We have made the decision to pivot away from the current iteration of the Keystone device.”

So there you have it, no more stand-alone streaming device, and no more secret achievements. Well, if you choose to reveal them, that is.
