In celebration of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalogue expanding to more than 300 games, Microsoft is offering Mistwalker’s Xbox 360 RPG Lost Odyssey free until the year end.

Furthermore, Lost Odyssey is also now playable via Xbox One via digital download, and is joined by Mistwalker’s other Xbox 360 title Blue Dragon. Both titles had previously been limited to disc-only backwards compatibility.

The games were, at the time of their original release, seen as a chance for Xbox to get a foothold in the Japanese market, but neither had much impact on platform’s popularity.

Lost Odyssey

Relive the journey of Kaim, a mysterious immortal warrior, as he embarks on an epic adventure of self-discovery.

Blue Dragon

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the Father of the Final Fantasy series, and Artoon present the world of Blue Dragon on Xbox 360. Featuring the character design of Akira Toriyama, the Father of “Dragon Ball Z”, and music by Nobuo Uematsu, the composer for Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon is an epic role-playing game (RPG) centered on five youngsters who possess miraculous strength and magical power to control shadow creatures that mirror the actions of their masters.
