THQ has revealed that it is to charge buyers of pre-owned copies of WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2011 if they want to access online modes. New copies of the game will come with a code to enable the online functionality at no extra cost, while second-hand buyers will need to pay 800 Microsoft points on Xbox LIVE or $9.99 on PSN – no European pricing has been revealed.
This is similar to what the publisher did with UFC Undisputed 2010, released back in May. THQ has said that anyone redeeming a code will also received the first DLC pack for free. The download includes Chris Masters as a new playable character, and new costumes for pint-sized Rey Mysterio and oddly named Kelly Kelly.
