WWE 2K26 is set to release on March 13, with early access beginning on March 6. So far, we’ve only seen a gameplay trailer and a handful of screenshots showcasing impressive visuals as the first installment in the series to drop support for PS4 and Xbox One. While the game largely looks strong, there have already been some missteps, including underwhelming fire effects in Inferno matches and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Jade Cargill calling out 2K over her outdated in-game appearance.

We’ve only seen a brief glimpse of Jade Cargill’s model in the WWE 2K26 trailer, where she is shown battling Naomi. The attire she appears to be wearing is the red gear she wore at Backlash in May 2024, during a tag team match alongside Bianca Belair against The Kabuki Warriors.

Responding to a fan on X who asked 2K to update her gear to a more recent look from 2025, Jade Cargill posted, “Yeah. Cause out of all the gears I’ve worn y’all chose one from two years ago is crazy. I spend WAY too much money on my gears. Which are always top notch”.

In the replies, fans pointed to several outfits from 2025 that would have been more fitting. This includes the striking all-black gear she wore at Elimination Chamber 2025, when she returned and shockingly attacked Naomi, resulting in Naomi being stretchered out before the match could even begin.

Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely that 2K will change Jade Cargill’s attire, especially with the game set to release in just over a month. The outfit and hairstyle are different from what she wore in WWE 2K25, making this a questionable design choice rather than a case of the model simply not being updated.

Aside from some bizarre visual and attire decisions, the rest of WWE 2K26 is shaping up nicely. The game introduces four new match types, including the return of Inferno and I Quit matches, and CM Punk has been confirmed as the star of Showcase mode. There’s also a renewed focus on the Attitude Era, drawing strong comparisons to WWE ’13, which also featured CM Punk on its cover.
