El Hijo del Vikingo, former Mega champion for the Lucha Libre promotion AAA, has seemingly confirmed being scanned for WWE 2K26. As relayed by content creator Smacktalks, the X account for the WWE Supercard mobile game has shared a video promoting the debut of Vikingo, showing him inside the scanning booth used for the WWE 2K video game series.
Scanning booths in games are used during development to create photorealistic models of a person’s face and body. This isn’t necessary for WWE Supercard, as it’s a card-battling mobile game that only features photographic renders of wrestlers.
WWE Supercard is published by 2K, the publisher of the video games for console and PC since WWE 2K14. The WWE 2K series features photorealistic models of wrestlers, so it would make sense for them to scan Vikingo for WWE 2K26 while also filming promotional material for his WWE Supercard debut.
Vikingo is not the only AAA wrestler who joined WWE Supercard in December 2025. Mr. Iguana joined the mobile game at the same time, alongside La Parka and Octagon. We haven’t seen any promotional material of these wrestlers inside the 2K scanning booth, but it’s possible they could potentially join WWE 2K26 alongside Vikingo.
WWE 2K26 is officially slated to release before March 31, 2026, coinciding with the WWE 2K24 servers shutting down. Darkstate’s Osiris Griffin has also confirmed being scanned, and so too have referees for the AAA promotion.
CM Punk is the rumored cover star, although Iyo Sky has teased filming promotional material. While the prospect of AAA wrestlers, most likely as DLC, is exciting, there will be wrestlers who don’t return from WWE 2K25, and there is currently uncertainty around Mick Foley due to the Hall of Famer not renewing his Legends contract.
