Back in November of 2004 Wold of Warcraft was released in North America, Australia and New Zealand. It has since been released in Korea, Europe, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The game has now reached its next major milestone of six million customers, adding another million in a little more than two months after Blizzard announced the game had reached five million.

Blizzard, always looking to expand its user base, has announced that a Spanish version of the game is on the way. This will join the English, French and German versions already available in Europe.

We look forward to offering Spanish-speaking players in Europe a version of World of Warcraft tailored specifically for them,” Blizzard president and cofounder Mike Morhaime said in a statement. “The enthusiasm for the game here has been overwhelming, and we’re pleased that this new localized version will make World of Warcraft accessible to an even wider audience.

All localisation will be handled in-house at Blizzard, and on release should provide Spanish-language support, a dedicated Spanish-language community team, plus a Spanish-language version of the game’s official website.
