As Marvel Rivals bids farewell to Season 1.5, the game’s competitive landscape is once again undergoing a major transformation, fueled by its hero ban system, which was previously only available to Diamond rank players and above. The ban function, which was initially established to limit the domination of overpowered characters, has since evolved into a strategic cornerstone, allowing teams to influence matches by removing roster titans.

For months, Wolverine battled his way to the top of the ban list, thanks to his savagery in destroying the Vanguard making him a near-universal target. But as the game nears its Season 2 launch, the adamantium emblem has been dethroned from his perch. Recent numbers from RivalsMeta reveal a startling twist: a new hero has surpassed Wolverine to become the most banned of Season 1.5.

Spider-Man becomes a true menace as most banned Marvel Rivals hero in Season 1.5

Well, if you haven’t guessed it already, it was not Wolverine who was the most hated hero among players in Season 1.5 of Marvel Rivals. Instead, it was your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man who topped the ban list as the season came to a close.

With a ban rate of 34.38% on the RivalsMeta charts, Spider-Man takes the number 1 position, ahead of Groot, who is second on the list with a 31.67% ban percentage. However, the most banned hero of Season 1, Wolverine, drops down to the third position with a 30.39% ban rate.

Furthermore, Spider-Man also ends Season 1.5 with a 48.53% win rate and 19.31% pick rate in just 287,830, which is also significantly higher than Wolverine’s stats. Thanks to his broken hitbox issues that have been reported endless times by users, Spider-Man still hasn’t received a fix in the latest Season 2 patch notes, cementing the webslinger at the top of most banned heroes.

On the other hand, Season 2 now changes the pick/ban feature completely, where players in Gold III can start banning players in competitive lobbies, which means these stats can change drastically, and you may just get to see Emma Frost as one of the most banned heroes due to her overpowered abilities.
