With its release looming closer, Netflix have finally released an official teaser trailer for their upcoming ‘The Witcher’ universe prequel series, ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’:

As its title implies, this is very much a teaser trailer for ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’. As it explains nothing about the story of the series. Which given, it’s over a month away from release, is a baffling decision.

Otherwise, a short summary of the series’ story is that it’s set 1200 years before ‘The Witcher’ Season 1 and shows “The Continent” when the Elves were still rulers and monsters and men had not long arrived.

The “Blood Origin” of the show’s title refers specifically to the creation of the first ever Witcher in order to battle the monsters ravaging “The Continent” following “The Conjunction of the Spheres”.

The series comes from ‘The Witcher’ supervising producer and series writer, Declan De Barra, and boasts a varied and interesting cast including Hollywood stars Michelle Yeoh, and Minnie Driver.

‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ releases all four of it’s episodes exclusively on Netflix on 25th December 2022.
