CD Projekt Red has released a hotfix for the Witcher 3 Next Gen Update on PC – which looks to address a number of issues faced by gamers on the platform.
The Hotfix improves ‘overall stability and performance of the game, and fixes GOG & Steam overlays,’ say the developers in their blog. The game version won’t change.
The next-gen update has also been released for the Origin version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, meaning the game version is 4.0.

However, at the time of writing there still seems to be some performance issues on the PC version, with some gamers flagging issues on the developer’s dedicated forum, which was set up to help them solve for bugs. Some are highlighting that having ray tracing enabled is causing the game to crash, an issue that was raised when the next-gen update first launched.
Encouragingly, CD Projekt Red went on to confirm that more fixes will be coming in the future as they strive to improve the experience on all platforms. This means we could well see PS5 and Xbox One X versions receive hotfixes in the future.
“Our teams are working on further improving the experience on all platforms,” they wrote. We’ll have more on this as it develops.
