Okay, so we’re playing all of the Halo games this weekend for charity.

No, Halo Wars doesn’t count.

We hit our $500 target this morning, though. Yipee! “But Martin,” you no doubt think as you sit at your computer right now, “why should we keep donating then?” That’s a great question, thanks for asking. I’ll tell you why: because we want you to keep donating. And so does Microsoft, so they’ve given us actual, genuine copies of Halo 4 that could be yours.

How does it work? We’ve got three copies in total, and we’re going to give two away by raffle to everyone who’s donated at least $5. To be precise, for every $5 you donate we’re going to give you a raffle ticket. Sorry, it’s only a virtual raffle so we won’t be posting out any tickets. We’re doing it this way because we want to reward the many of you who’ve donated incredible amounts already.

Also, as a bonus, anyone who has donated already will receive a bonus raffle ticket because we love you guys.

So then, please be generous and donate to either Matt or myself on our Extra-Life page. You might get lucky (numerical hint: the odds of winning are very good compared to most competitions) and also your money will go to help sick children.

There’s some caveats, mind: You won’t be getting a copy now (sorry) but will instead have to wait until Halo 4 launches globally on November 6. We also won’t be able to get you these copies on launch day. We’re aiming for launch week, but we can’t give you an exact date I’m afraid. We’ll be in touch to let you know they’ve been shipped.

We’ll also need anyone who decides to donate to let us see their e-mail addresses so we know how to get in touch with you if you win. Please double check when you make you donation.

This competition is also only valid in the UK, I’m afraid, but hopefully some of our US friends will still be generous enough to donate a few of their glorious dollarpounds to our charity livestream.

Our last chance of winning will be done over Twitter as we want to spread the word about this as much as possible. Simply follow @videogamercom and RT this Tweet for another chance to win. This is also UK only, I’m afraid.

Finally, I just want to say thank you to everyone who had donated their cash. I am enormously proud of the whole VideoGamer.com team for putting this together, to Microsoft for being so wonderful with helping us out and to everyone who gives up some of their time at the weekend to give a few quid to charity and watch a bunch of overweight buffoons sit around and play videogames.
