Nintendo has today announced that Wii Fit will launch across Europe on April 25 2008, complete with Wii Balance Board.

Wii Fit launched in Japan on December 1 2007 and has already sold in excess of 1.4 million units, making it one of the fastest selling Wii titles in Japan. Part of the game’s success has been down to its coverage by mainstream media, exposing it to a broad range of people that most video games can only dream of.

The positive reception to the game is certainly warranted, mainly because of the Nintendo developed Wii Balance Board which enables the user’s weight distribution to be translated into in-game actions. This includes taking off on a Ski Jump, taking part in some step aerobics or performing Yoga.

In total Wii Fit features over 40 different activities and enables up to eight people to track their fitness progress, recording their Body Mass Index.

Wii Fit, bundled with the Wii Balance Board, will launch across Europe on April 25 2008.
