Microsoft has told VideoGamer.com that it has “nothing to announce at this time” regarding a White Xbox One console – despite an online report claiming that the console has been officially confirmed for release this October.

Polygon reports that a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed last week that two additional Xbox One bundles were due to be released later this year, including a Madden NFL 15 bundle and a White Xbox One Sunset Overdrive bundle.

The Madden bundle has since been announced but – officially, at least – Microsoft is remaining coy about the possibility of a white console.

“We have nothing to announce at this time,” a Microsoft spokesperson told us when contacted about Polygon’s report last night.

That isn’t to say Microsoft won’t have anything to announce during next week’s Gamescom, of course, where it’s looking likely that the platform holder may officially unveil the white hardware.

A White Xbox One was gifted to Microsoft employees at the launch of the console last November, although it has never been publicly released. However, infamous Microsoft insider ntkrnl claimed earlier this year that a White Xbox One would launch with Sunset Overdrive this October alongside a variety of other leaks.
