Like any popular live service game, there will come a time when you’ll eventually run out of things to do, and Hellidvers 2 is no different. Despite its ever-changing Galactic War landscape, the constant repetition of liberating and defending planets from unending waves of Terminids and Automatons has taken a toll on most soldiers. And unsurprisingly, some have begun poking fun at the lack of content in Helldivers 2, with one player claiming that the real major order is finding a “reason to keep [playing].”
At least, that’s what Reddit user Vast-Astronaut-9682 feels after weeks of waiting for AGS to come back from their “summer break.” However, although several other players feel similarly jaded, some community members aren’t quite burnt out to the same extent. A few, like Lightsabergoesbzz, recommended taking a break for now and returning once the developers release new Helldivers 2 content. After all, spending 500+ hours on anything, let alone playing a game, is enough to make anyone a little mad.
Of course, as Community Manager Twinbeard pointed out on Discord, their “semi-siesta” typically lasts from early July to mid-August, so things should ramp up soon enough. And even though AGS hasn’t revealed any of its plans for the tail end of the year, it’ll likely involve the long-awaited arrival of the Illuminate—the extraterrestrial enemy faction that many had expected to arrive following the destruction of Meridia.
Still, with the Helldivers 2 dev team yet to confirm anything, this is still speculation, so you’ll have to wait until an official announcement before you start spreading the good word.
