Infinity Ward and Raven Software are apparently giving players most of what they wished for in Warzone 2 Season 3 as they are now set to introduce positive changes to the battle royale’s pace and movement mechanisms. The community has long been asking the developers to increase the game’s speed in order to discourage camping and it seems that they are now finally going to be getting their wish.
These particular improvements are especially welcome now that the return of one-shot sniper rifles have been announced as well. The rapid tempo of each match will surely prevent players from staying in one spot and will therefore decrease the usage of these deadly weapons. Additionally, the inclusion of a Massive Resurgence mode should become even more enjoyable with these welcome in-game elements now integrated.
The developers have stated that the improvements they’ve made “to the core pacing of battle royale includes a reduced delay time between circles closing towards the mid-game and the addition of more Ammo Caches and Buy Stations in areas to support regain in the late-game.” They’ve also scattered several UAV Towers throughout Al Mazrah “to provide intel and encourage more combat engagement opportunities.”
But aside from these updates to the Warzone 2 Season 3 pacing, a variety of combat system enhancements are also being introduced. Based on the official developer blog post, fans can expect “reduced intensity of damage feedback on the HUD to better improve combat visibility.” Infinity Ward and Raven Software have also “reduced high-damage weapon outliers to make combat feel more consistent.”
Last, but certainly not least, a number of changes are also being made to the battle royale’s movement and traversal mechanics. Roaming the map of Al Mazrah will now “feel more dynamic” because of the improvements made to mantling as well as “slight adjustments to sliding and diving responsiveness.” The addition of Redeploy Drones should also make it easier to get from one point to another.
With all these changes being brought in as part of Warzone 2 Season 3, this could signal a huge turning point for the embattled CoD entry. However, only time will tell if these changes are indeed enough to make the disillusioned fan base fall in love with the game once again.
