Want to know if Realms of Ruin is on the PS5? Frontier Developments’ return to the Warhammer franchise has got fans wondering if a console release is in the cards.

With solid visuals and a simplified combat experience for RTS newcomers, Warhammer Age of Sigmar Realms of Ruin should be on your list of 2023 titles to beat, especially if you’re into strategy titles. Our Realms of Ruin preview was pretty positive as well.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar Realms of Ruin PS5 support explained

Yes, Warhammer Age of Sigmar Realms of Ruin is out on the PlayStation 5 (PS5). With a refined control scheme for controllers, it’s easy to pick up. This also means that you won’t struggle to balance your upgrades and battle tactics.

With an easy-to-use interface that relies on every button on your controller, PlayStation fans will be pleasantly surprised. It’s got an in-depth tutorial as well. This gets you to grips with the game’s rock-paper-scissors counter system as well as organizing your squads. In addition to the PS5, Realms of Ruin launched on PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Disable DirectStep to make quicker commands on a controller in Realms of Ruin

DirectStep can help new players on a PS5 with a strategy title. But if you want to match the pace of PC users, disable this right away.

Is Realms of Ruin worth playing on the PlayStation 5

Yes, Realms of Ruin is more than playable on the PS5 thanks to its controller scheme. If you want to play with friends on other platforms, check if Realms of Ruin has crossplay support. And if you’re new to playing RTS games on a controller, I’d suggest sticking to the default controller settings. But if you want to play at the same pace as your PC friends, disable the DirectStep movement mechanic.

This forces you to directly chart out a path for each troop by repeatedly drawing with the left stick and pressing a button. Disable this and you can pick any spot on the map for your soldiers to move towards. I can understand why the developers may have added this system but it’s better off disabled.

That covers Realms of Ruin on the PS5. Stay tuned for more information regarding the game now that we’re past the Realms of Ruin release date.
