Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command will feature an original single-player campaign, plus online multiplayer for head-to-head battle against players the world over.

Gamers will play as the elite Space Marines and must combat the encroaching evil of the ruthless and daemonic Chaos Space Marines. The game will feature 13 missions that span a cinematic story.

Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command will also offer nine multiplayer maps, where up to eight players can battle it out either locally or online. Players will be able to pick from two Space Marine chapters or two Chaos Space Marine Legions to play as in multiplayer games: Imperium vs. Imperium, Forces of Chaos vs. Forces of Chaos, or Imperium vs. Forces of Chaos.

Visually the game is shaping up well and promises to offer fully destructible, real time 3D battlefields meaning no two games should be alike. Damage will be dished out using a selection of more than 20 ranged and close combat weapons taken from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. These include the Bolter, Plasma Gun, Chainsword and Power Fist.

Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command is scheduled for release on PSP and Nintendo DS in the autumn.
