IGN will be announcing a “new AAA game from a major developer” at 4pm BST today, executive editor Ryan McCaffrey has revealed – rumoured to be the next game from Saints Row developer Volition.

The announcement was first made over Twitter, but was followed up on NeoGAF by a tease from insider Shinobi602 hinting at Volition’s involvement.

“Glad to see IGN reveal it out of their own volition,” he posted.

Shinobi previously revealed that this year’s Call of Duty would be set in space, and leaked 4-player co-op for Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Volition’s new game, meanwhile, is rumoured to be called Agents of Mayhem although it isn’t yet clear whether it’s a brand new Saints Row. A trademark for ‘Agents of Mayhem’ was registered by Volition’s parent company Koch Media earlier this year.

The most recent Saints Row game, Saints Row IV, launched in summer 2013, with standalone expansion Gat out of Hell following up in early 2015. Earlier this year, Deep Silver said that it was planning a “major announcement” for this year’s E3, which kicks off in LA next Tuesday.
