Deep Silver is planning to make a “major announcement” at E3 2016, CEO Klemens Kundratitz has confirmed, prompting speculation about what the publisher could have plans to reveal.

Speaking to MCV, Kundratitz revealed that the company has “a lot of games in the pipeline and are very much looking forward to E3, where we are not going to be absent and where we will make our next major announcement.”

So, what could Deep Silver have planned? Well, it currently owns the rights to multiple major properties, including Homefront and Dead Island, but has not yet revealed plans for the future of Saints Row, the open world franchise developed by Volition.

Volition was acquired by Deep Silver’s parent company Koch Media in January 2013, eight months prior to the release of Saints Row IV. The game’s standalone expansion Gat out of Hell was released almost 18 months later, but was co-developed by High Voltage Software. Volition’s next major project has yet to be announced.

Alternatively, Deep Silver could be preparing to announce a new game in the Metro series or, potentially, unveil a new IP. The publisher has previously worked with Japanese studio Grasshopper Manufacture to release action game Killer Is Dead, and is working with Comcept on Mighty No.9.

E3 begins on Tuesday, June 14.
