Valorant developer Riot Games has finally introduced a new agent into the shoot ’em up’s roster, and the ‘Dead Lilac’ is already striking fear into the hearts of opposing players everywhere. Iso, the bulletproof wizard hailing from China, is set to make his debut soon in the game’s battle-tested fields equipped with an exciting suite of round-defining skills and a chilling composure to complement it.
Thanks to the exciting story trailer released by Riot Games, we’ve now also been given a look into the deadly assassin’s capabilities after the short clip showcased his skills in taking down squads singlehandedly. As expected, the ‘bulletproof wizard’ moniker isn’t just for show, as the abilities that Iso’s armed with give him absurd amounts of survivability, which makes taking him down a daunting task for most enemy squads.
His first ability, called Double Tap, starts a Focus timer when pressed. Once the meter has completely filled, you’ll be given a certain amount of time to down opposing agents, generating an energy orb. As soon as you shoot the orb, you’ll gain a shield that will protect you from one instance of damage from any source. This works in tandem with his skill called Contingency, which pushes an indestructible wall of energy forward when activated.
Of course, these aren’t the only talents that Iso brings to the table, as his Undercut ability equips you with a molecular bolt that, when thrown, applies Fragile to any opponent it touches. Last but certainly not least, his ultimate skill, called Kill Contract, fires a wave of energy into the battlefield, pulling you and the first enemy agent hit into an isolated arena. The only way to leave this interdimensional space is by getting a kill or getting killed yourself, so make sure to bring your A-game before activating it.
Riot Games has revealed that a more in-depth gameplay trailer will be launched on October 20, 2023. This will then be followed by Iso’s introduction to the game on October 31, 2023, during which you can use his game-changing talents to your heart’s content.
