Coffee Stain and Iron Gate have announced that Norse-themed survival game Valheim will come to Xbox consoles early next year.

The game’s been a huge hit on PC in early access on Steam since last year. Many updates later, and the game will now not only be heading to other storefronts, but also consoles for the first time. First off, the game will head to PC Game Pass via the Microsoft Store in Fall of 2022. That’ll then be followed by a release on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in Spring of 2023.

Original developer Iron Gate is handing console development to studios Piktiv and Fishlabs to help the transition. This is so they can concentrate on the current game, including a an update of the Mistlands biome due to drop in Q3. However, the console release will feature full crossplay, letting you survive the Norse afterlife with friends wherever they may be.

You can check out a new trailer for Valheim from last night’s Xbox Games Showcase Extended broadcast for yourself down below. Valheim is out now in early access on PC. It’ll head to PC Game Pass in Fall 2022, then on Xbox Series X/S & Xbox One in Early Spring 2023. Skål!
