PQube has announced that it’ll be publishing the Arc System Works and French Bread 2D fighting game Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late[st] in Europe in late 2017. It’ll be coming to the PlayStation family of consoles, providing one of the increasingly rare opportunities for PS Vita users to charge their console.

As an arcade release originally, Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late[st] comes to console with a bevy of new features, including four new characters named Phonon, Mika, Enkidu and Wagner joining the fight roster. New stages have been added and the gameplay has been rebalanced and tweaked for console. The port also implements a new combo system called Veil Off. New gaming modes have been added to flesh out the experience for fans and newcomers alike: a combo challenge mode, tutorial mode, and chronicle mode which enables players to play a story-mode experience. So, lots to be getting on with.

Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late[st] takes place in a fictional modern-day Japan, where an event called Hollow Night occurs monthly. During Hollow Night, creatures called Voids appear and attack civilians. Survivors of these attacks develop special abilities and become known as an In-Birth. The game follows a young man named Hyde, who’s survived one of these attacks, as he investigates the strange events that surround Hollow Night.

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] will release in late 2017 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
